CYC Lake Association 2019 Annual Meeting
Thanks to all who joined us for an entertaining and informative 2018 meeting. Our evening at the Augusta Country Club was very successful with nearly 80 members and guests in attendance, and we hope that you will plan to join us again July 12 for our 2019 annual meeting at the Augusta Country Club at 5:30 pm. It will begin with a social hour during which an expanded menu of hors d’oeuvres will be served. A cash bar will be available per usual. Following the social hour will be our annual business meeting that will include election of officers and executive committee members. Speakers for the evening: TBD.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a very important annual meeting and we expect it to be well attended as this is an election year and we will be electing a number of new officers. As well, we have some important adjustments to our organization that will require a vote on by-law changes.
NOTE: There will be NO DINNER SERVED; therefore, again in 2019, there will be NO CHARGE, but we gratefully accept any donation to go toward the hor d’oeuvres. As there is no charge and as we have a very important business meeting, we expect this event will be well attended; therefore, submit your reservation soon. Seating is limited! Thanks, hope to see you July 12.
Again this year: if you wish to have dinner at your expense prior to or after our social hour/meeting, you may call the Augusta Country Club at 207-623-3021 to make a personal dinner reservation. Simply explain that you are a member of the CYC and ACC membership will not be required for this special occasion.
Hor d’oeuvres menu will potentially include: Cheese and fruit, veggies and dip, deviled egg assortment, tomato olive bruschetta, sweet and sour meatballs, bacon wrapped scallops, spanikopita (spinach & feta in phyllo), chicken satay with peanut sauce, and quiche (Crab, Spinach, Lorraine).
Check back to this website to keep up with our activities.
Hope to see you at our CYCLA annual meeting.

As mentioned above, this is an election year for CYCLA officers and executive committee members, and we need some help. Our long time commodore is stepping down as is our secretary and our membership chair. At this time we do have a candidate for the commodore's position, a somewhat willing candidate for the vice commodore's position (he insists someone is welcome to step up), a candidate for the membership chair's position, BUT... we need a secretary! Nominations will be requested prior to the vote at the annual meeting, but it sure would be nice if we could find a willing volunteer to fill the secretary's position asap. We usually have just 3-4 meetings between May and November (as well as our annual meeting in July) and the secretary is responsible for the minutes of those meetings. We have a wonderful group of people on our team and sure would welcome a new volunteer. Contact our commodore at firstname.lastname@example.org to throw your hat into the ring. Please, we sure do need you so, come on aboard!
JULY 27, 2019
CYCLA Annual Concert in Horseshoe Cove
Always the 4th Saturday in July from 1PM TO 4PM!
And, yes, we definitely had a another great concert in 2018! Turn-out was above our expectations, the weather was just beautiful on Sunday our rain date, the School Street Band was it's usual awesome, and we have to call the afternoon another rousing success.
Thank you for your generosity. Almost $1900 was collected for our Lake Preservation Fund and as you should know.....lake preservation is a critical issue!
See you July 27, 2019 for another rousing concert in
Horseshoe Cove featuring the School Street Band
Sponsored by Clark Marine, Manchester
and Fieldstone Place LLC, Augusta
PLEASE KEEP in MIND, We must continue to focus on "responsibility and safety!" As stated in the past, we welcome boats, canoes, kayaks, and jet skis, but we must ask that no docks be floated in to the concert area. The concert will not proceed if that happens!!! In agreement with the law enforcement agencies including our local wardens, we are continuing to promote this event as a family affair, we welcome you, your kids and grandkids, your friends, and we ask that you all keep safety and responsible behavior at the forefront! We also ask that everyone keep the lake pristine. Keep cigarette butts, trash, bottles, cans, jello shots, out of our beautiful lake. Thank you for this cooperative effort!
IMPORTANT! This island is PRIVATE! Please to not trespass for any reason!
REMEMBER THE FISHNET DONATIONS, as you did this year!
$2400 for 2017! A record! Thank you all.
This concert is a major fundraiser for the CYC and money that you drop in the fishnet goes directly to our Lake Preservation Fund! Please help us. This is your lake too!
REMEMBER TO BE SAFE!
Enter the cove area with extreme caution. Be slow. Watch for swimmers and smaller craft. Adhere to all Maine State Laws. Wardens will be present for everyone's safety.
And do not hesitate to go to our Membership page, fill out the available form, and become a member of the Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club. Annual dues are only $25 per at-home family ! We are in fact a lake association, we are concerned about the preservation of this amazing lake, and we need your support. Join us!
