As you all are aware, our Ladies Delight Island light has been dark for some time now, but maybe you have not been aware that for all of that time period, we have been trying to resolve our issues with the light and we are currently very optimistic that this situation will soon be rectified! Bill Kieltyka, our vice commodore, has been working diligently on this challange and your commodore recently has receive updating emails from Bill.
After one email from the commodore to Bill thanking him for his efforts:
"Well thank you, David. As usually occurs with these things, I couldn't do it without others. In this case, most significantly Dennis and Nate Curtis, Dennis Pollack, and others. I am pretty confident now that we will get this done. Just a couple more steps and a day or two to install. My hope is that we free ourselves and others in the future from constant attention to this. We'll come up with a protocol for checking each year, but hopefully we can pay more attention to the physical aspects of the lighthouse."
And the most recent email:
Dennis and Nate Curtis came over today with all the parts. We plotted our plan for next week and the actual installation. The attached pictures show them in my garage reviewing the wiring and, voila, the first lighting of the light. We went through several programs and light intensities before settling on a combination that should be a good start.
Will keep you updated, but feel free to share with the EC and Facebook subscribers.
The first lighting of our new system!
When will our Ladies Delight Lighthouse beacon shine again?
If the weather cooperates and with a bit of good luck...
