So! Have you found us on Facebook yet? Thanks to our friend, Dayna Larson, the CYC now has its own Facebook page. Please visit the site, like us, and follow us there on a regular basis. Encourage your friends to "Like" us, and encourage them to visit us here on the web as well. And, how about convincing them to join the CYC at the amazing price of $25 per at home family unit per year. Just tell them to access the form on our Membership page! Remember, membership dues go primarily to the protection of our beautiful Lake Cobbosseecontee!
Thank you, Lorraine! As you may be aware, Lorraine Heikkinen has been serving as our membership chair. However, Lorrraine, one of our sponsors here at CYC, has also been very busy in her real estate work and has therefore stepped down. As commodore of the CYC, I would like to say, "Thanks, Lorraine" for all that you do and have done for us! We are all appreciative!
Also, at this time it is with pleasure that I announce that Deena Bennett has agreed to take over as chair of that committee. Deena is the wife of Hollis Bennett who serves on our executive committee and they reside in Litchfield. They have been dedicated members for many years.
Thank you, Deena!

Our friend, Lee.
The CYC is sad to report the passing of Leonel L'Heureux on April 22, 2015 at CNCC in Lewiston following a brief illness. Lee, as we knew him, and his wife, Helene, lived at the Lakeside Condos on the north end of Lake Cobbosseecontee and they wintered in Florida. Many of you likely remember Lee from the Lakeside Motel and Marina where he was employed for more than ten years. Lee and Helene were also frequent guests at our CYC weekend parties. Lee will indeed be missed, and we send our love, prayers, and condolences to Helene!
The CYC has received notice of the passing of a long time member, Nelson Tuttle, on September 26, 2014. Nelson, born on April 20, 1942, was a graduate of B.U. and had great love and respect for Lake Cobbosseecontee. He served for many years on the CYC executive committee and was vice commodore for a number of years during the 1990s.He also, “Served as commander of the U.S. Power Squadron and taught various boating and navigation courses to Maine boaters.”Nelson is survived by his wife, Lillian Stone Tuttle, daughters Kristin and Nanette and their families, and his brother John and family. On behalf of the CYC, condolences are offered to Nelson’s family and friends.
It is with regret and sadness that we pass on to you this announcement of the death of Elaine Fuller of Manchester, Maine resulting from a fall and a severe head injury. A wonderful lady who will be truly missed, Elaine was for many years the treasurer of the CYC and for six years she was our Commodore. For further information access the obituary page of the Kennebec Journal, January 29,2013 and/orwww.khrfuneralhomes.com.
It is with regret as well that we must notify you that Pat Gannett died of heart failure February 12, 2013 while in Ocala, Florida. Most of you are aware that Pat and John ran the Cobbossee Marina at their east shore home in Manchester for many years and also for many years have been active members of the CYC! She too will be missed! Her obituary may also be read in the Kennebec Journal.
Tragic News to Report (From the Fall 2012 edition of The Cobbossee Pilot)
It is with regret that we have to announce the passing of Sherry Thacker wife of our former Commodore, Rick Thacker. At the time of this writing few details were available, but she apparently suffered a heart attack in South Carolina while they were on the way to their Florida home. On behalf of the Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club, the Commodore would like to extend condolences to Rick and the family on their loss. Sherry will be fondly remembered and certainly missed.
